Many parent’s worst nightmare revolves around the thought that they might have a hall full of exuberant four-year-olds on the day the entertainer fails to show up! An unreliable entertainer is far, far worse than a poor entertainer so how can you make sure that your entertainer will show up?
Firstly, make your booking nice and early. The summer months are notoriously busy so it would be much easier for your entertainer to make an error with your booking when rushed. Also it’s best to approach them when they’re not surrounded by children – take a little extra time to phone them during the week – remembering to allow for school runs and bedtime if possible - most entertainers are parents too.
Most entertainers work by themselves so what if they get ill? This is a tricky one – but the answer is simply to choose an entertainer with good connections, if your clown can’t make it they’ll know a juggler, face painter or magician. It might not be what was ordered but it might just save your skin!
You can also ask for written confirmation of the booking – by email or post would be fine, and you can telephone/text nearer the date to confirm all is well – if a problem is likely to arise this is a good way to root it out. Also, if any of the details have been lost, this is a good way to ensure everyone knows the plan.
