Black Peugeot 206CC for sale in Broadstairs

I would like to sell my Peugeot 206 Coupe Cabriolet as we have two cars and my husband doesn’t use his – it’s silly to have a car on the drive all day.

The car is a reliable runner, great fun, lovely to drive, especially with the roof down!

PAS, electric windows, 2 litre, working electric roof, central locking, air conditioning, black and red full leather interior, alloy wheels.

The car is in the Broadstairs Area in Kent. Please call Bryony on 07789 727898 – no agencies.

Callis Christmas Fair

Spending a day at Callis Grange really made me feel Christmassy; it’s becoming quite a tradition for me! Surprisingly perhaps, this is the first time I’ve been asked to paint a Christmas Pudding!!

Undead pirate at Kent County Cricket!

I have just got back from Kent County Cricket Club where a rather frightening looking pirate was inviting people to watch an excellent and impressive firework display!

How to run your own children’s Tea party – update

I couldn’t wait to share this with you – doesn’t the table look pretty? I made the table flowers out of paper using my silhouette machine. The cups were all from charity shops or junk shops and cost me around £10-15 total. I served hot chocolate instead of tea which went down very well with all the guests.

My clever husband made each of the guests a tiny little finger puppet mouse – each one was different and they all peeped out of the teacups – so cute!

Make your own Fake Blood at home this Halloween

Halloween can get expensive if you buy all your own costumes and make up – and I’m assuming you don’t have much of a requirement for blood after Halloween? Here’s one way to save a little this year; make your own fake blood at home:
  • 1/2 tumbler golden syrup
  • 1/2 tumbler water
  • 2 tablespoons red food colouring
  • up to 1 tablespoon green food colouring as required
  • 1 teaspoon custard powder

Mix custard powder with a little water, add the rest of the water, syrup and colourings.  Warm in a saucepan till blended.  Add sufficient green colouring to correct the colour. You need to heat it enough to fix the colour without boiling the mixture.  Test this by applying a drop of slightly cooled blood to your hand and see if it stains.  If it does you need to heat it a bit more.  It will also start to thicken as the custard powder cooks.  Bottle when cool.

Note – cooked or not this recipe is likely to leave slight stains on clothing. Do not use while hot. Apply with care.

Bagpuss Birthday Cake

My daughter has just turned 5. I always ask my children what sort of cake they would like and they enjoy coming up with wild and wonderful ideas to challenge me – but mostly I challenge myself. Here is my Bagpuss – along with Charlie and Mimi Mice. (I don’t suppose there’s really a Mimi mouse but that’s what my daughter called it!)

Tea party ideas for little girls

We made a list of games that would suit a little girl’s tea party and then made our own variations to adapt the theme.

Hot Potato – becomes Hot Teapot – the children pass the teapot around until the music stops – but they do not want to be holding it when the music stops otherwise they’re out. (Have a pack of sweeties on hand to distract them from disappointment and all will run smoothly!)

We also played pin the tail on the donkey with a twist – with so many princesses we had them kiss a frog instead – aiming to give him a smacker right on the lips!

But our star game was to make real teddy bears – what better way to have a tea party than with a brand new teddy bear of your very own? This was a surprise for my daughter and her friends - their little faces lit up when they realised what we were going to do! We only had a few children but it is the sort of thing that would be easy to run with more children – they all sat so still and carefully followed instructions on how to make their bears. Once made they joined the children for tea.

I was so pleased with the way this party went that I have decided to supply bears – full details to follow shortly – in the meantime email your bear making party enquiries facepainter@fancyface.co.uk

Free 3D Teacup invitations for tea party

My daughter’s birthday is in October but she’s been planning her party since January – and I’ve been helping. I’ve been collecting vintage tea cups from charity shops and little antique shops since about that time – taking care not to exceed my tiny budget each time but also working carefully to ensure that whilst all different, my cups all coordinated. Now, I love junk-shop shopping so for me this is not a chore, and my daughter seems to like them too – she carefully makes her way to the boxes of toys and spends her time looking through them for pretty things! For her part, Amelia has been making up games and imagining how pretty it will all be.

To coordinate with the real tea cups we planned to use on the day, I also made some paper tea cups to use as invitations. This sounds tricky but I used my silhouette machine and this made short woork of the cutting out, folding etc – in fact with this template you only need a tiny dab of glue for the handle. We made each one in a different pattern and put a bag of sweeties inside. The detail for the party was placed on the sweetie bag tie.

For some reason I’m struggling to upload my free 3D paper teacup Silhouette template (.studio) but I’d be glad to make it available to anyone who emails me for it until I get the download sorted facepainter@fancyface.co.uk
