FAQ

This is me!
I enjoy painting faces as much as the children/adults love to have it done! I’m fun and friendly and will make your child feel really special.
What sort of events will Fancy Face do?
Children’s parties, Promotions, Weddings, Adult’s parties, Corporate open days, Book signings, Garden fetes, Dance events, Theatrical shows, Town shows, Festivals or parades, Hen or Stag parties, individual or multiple Fancy Dress faces, Masked balls, Retail events, Christmas events, Halloween, Sporting events, School/nursery functions or anything else you can think of! If you’re not sure, please ask!
Who will Fancy Face paint?
I prefer to paint children over the age of 3 as they’re able to sit still – there is no upper age limit – however, I do apply some restrictions regarding apparent skin complaints. Please see the attached Skin Notice.
Will Fancy Face come to my event outside Thanet?
I will attend events almost (!) anywhere as long as my travel expenses are covered. Parties within Thanet, Canterbury, Whitstable and Deal do not incurr travel costs. Please ask for more details.
How long does it take?
Usually it takes approximately one hour to paint 10-15 full faces though clearly some faces take longer than others. If you’re short on time (lots of children at a short event like a birthday party etc) I can offer cheek art or simpler designs.
How much does it cost?
It really does depend on what you’re looking for – I’d be happy to chat with you, no obligation, call 07789 727898 or fill in the form below:
Please speak to me about fetes or festivals or other events (including charity functions) where I should charge clients per face.
Do you have Public Liability Insurance?
Yes, I am insured to £5 million. If your event requires a higher level of insurance, please let me know.
Are you CRB checked?
Yes, I have regular enhanced CRB checks – please ask for a copy of my most recent check – I can usually email a copy to you.
Can you provide corporate invoicing?
Yes, I will usually email this to you in PDF format on the same day I take your booking. I accept payment by cash, cheque or BACS.
Does the face paint wash off easily?
Yes, I use branded, water based, professional face paints which are easy to clean off (not like the grease paint sticks your children probably got from Father Christmas last year!) Use a wet flannel and baby soap or an equivalent; there’s no scrubbing involved!
What about clothes and furniture?
Well, so far I’ve never had any face paint stain my clothing and I’ve managed to wash it off my own cream coloured fabric sofas using baby wipes – I have two young children, both lovers of face paint but the best advice is clearly to cover up soft furnishings if you have a house full of young tigers and butterflies! If in doubt I recommend soaking soiled clothing in Vanish or equivalent.
Does the face paint stay on?
Yes! Runny noses and messy eaters permitting, the face paint will stay on for most of the day without much smudging. For dancers or theatrical I can bring a fixative powder that will help the paint stay on even though the wearer might be hot etc – please advise in advance.
